I am amazed at how much I have learned in my first semester at CCAD. About all that I knew coming into this year was that it was going to be a lot of work. CCAD has a reputation of being a really tough school and it is, but that is a good thing. Through being in this program I have learned so much more than I thought I would. After only14 weeks of schooling I am a better artist. I am using all of the ideas and concepts that my professors have taught me. There is a drastic change in my art and the way I do it. I have found this semester to be challenging, but it was nothing that I couldn’t handle. I think that I am built for art school. I have excellent time management skills and I work my hardest at whatever I do. Just as an example of this I have had 10 pieces held back for exhibition this year in 3D, color concept, and structural drawing. I am excited about what the next semester and coming three years hold for me. If I keep learning at the rate that I am now then I have no idea where I will be; it will be good. At this point I am leaning toward a major in Industrial Design. I enjoy working with three-dimensional objects. This could mean a lot of things for me. There are many directions that I could go within this degree. I could go into product design, package design, automotive design, furniture design, the possibilities are endless; and as of right now I am not sure where I wan to go with it. I have some time to decide though, and I trust that God will lead me where He wants me to be.
