Another artist that I recently discovered is Roy Lichtenstein. For our color concept class we had to find a modern artist to use as an influence for our last step in our self-portrait series. I asked my mom for ideas and she suggested Lichtenstein among others. After looking at some of his work I decided to go with him. I enjoy the graphic feeling of all his work; bold lines and bright, solid color. I also find the dot patterns that he uses interesting. It is as if he has enlarged the dot patterns that printers make and incorporated them into his work. Until recently, he has not been an influence on any of my work, but after this project he may continue to influence me.
