My family is a big part of who I am. It was because of my parents, Mark and Jean, that I am in art school now. They both graduated from CCAD so the art runs in my blood. They are divorced now and I have two great stepparents, Pat and Ken. I also have a brother, David, who is a senior in high school and a beautiful 4-year-old sister named Emma. My family is very important to me. With the art running in the family, I have some pressure on me. It is a good pressure, one that pushed me forward in a good way and is not too overwhelming. I know that they will look at my work with an eye that most parents don’t have. I can get an artist’s opinion from them and they don’t hesitate to tell me what I can do to do better. Seeing as both my parents are artists themselves, I had overwhelming support in attending CCAD. I’m sure that any parent would be thrilled if their son followed in their footsteps and went to the same college that they attended. My brother is more of a technical artist; he will be going to Cincinnati next year to go into architecture. I also have a wonderful girlfriend named Catherine. She is the love of my life. We have been dating for two and a half years now and we are still going strong. She is an amazing source of encouragement and support for me here at CCAD. Catherine will be graduating from Spring Arbor University in Michigan this spring.
